Ali: Her human right fight has made her a city hero
Misalee Ali Saeed, has beenhonored and awarded by the City TV
in Winnipeg, for her human right fight.
Every
Monday at the dinner table Ali Saeed start discussion over all
issues, it’s a passion shared by his 15 year old daughter
Misalee Ali. The young human right activist following her fathers
foot steps. As a young man in Ethiopia his fight for democracy
landed him in prison.
“I am
a strong believer due to my political believe, I was jailed and
tortured.” Ali said.
“Knowing
he is my father and just picturing it, touches me, how could someone
be in so much pain for something that is right.” Misalee
said.
More than
just a father and daughter they become, Political alien. They
flew to Ottawa last week with a petition over a thousand people
signed asking the Canadian government to help win the release
of two female political activists in Ethiopia.
Misalee raises
awareness in any way she can, by reading her political poetry
in a community.
For now her human rights fight have made her a city hero.
In
her native land Misalee means a good Example she is living up
to that title.
She hope to turn activism in to a carrier in justice or politics.
