Noam Barkan:   Mother Elmanesh’s condition improved slightly during the course of the night. The fate of Melkam Tesra, 26, another Ethiopian immigrant, was sadly not so fortunate. Last week she was stabbed in all parts of her body by her partner and eventually died of her wounds on Saturday.
